1. Scope and developer
This policy applies to the LayerPocket app for iPhone and iPad and its support website. LayerPocket is developed and operated by Garvey Wong, an independent developer (“I,” “me,” or “my”).
Document editing takes place locally on your device. This website is a public information site hosted by GitHub Pages. I receive support information only when you choose to email me.
This policy describes how LayerPocket handles information. Unless a custom agreement is presented through the App Store, LayerPocket is licensed and used under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement.
2. Information handled by the app
LayerPocket does not require an account and does not include analytics, advertising, tracking, or a cloud document service operated by me. The app does not send your PSD documents, images, fonts, draft content, layer names, document text, or file paths to me.
Documents, drafts, imported fonts, thumbnails, preferences, and temporary processing files are handled locally on your device. Saved draft directories and imported font files use iOS complete file protection and are marked to be excluded from device backups.
Language and appearance preferences are stored locally in iOS preferences and may be handled by iOS backup according to your device settings. After StoreKit verifies Pro access, LayerPocket stores a Boolean entitlement hint in the iOS Keychain using a ThisDeviceOnly protection class. The hint contains no Apple Account, transaction, or payment details and is not intended to migrate to another device.
3. Files, Photos, and local storage
LayerPocket accesses only files or photos you select for import through Apple’s system interfaces. The app works on an app-owned local copy and does not modify the original PSD. Temporary processing files are managed locally by the app and iOS.
Only after you request an export does LayerPocket save the generated image to your Photos library. The app does not save exports to Files or other destinations. iOS controls Photos access, which you can review or change in system settings.
Drafts and imported fonts remain in protected local app storage until you delete them or delete the app. Because they are excluded from backups, deleting the app, erasing your device, or moving to a new device may permanently remove them. Save any finished images you need to Photos before doing so.
4. App Store purchases
LayerPocket Pro is a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles your Apple Account, payment method, billing details, and transaction infrastructure under its privacy policy.
On the device, LayerPocket receives the localized product price and the product, transaction, verification, restore, and revocation information needed to manage Pro access. This includes the product identifier, transaction identifier, and StoreKit-signed verification data. LayerPocket processes this information locally and does not send it to a server operated by me. Verified StoreKit entitlement remains the authority for purchase status.
5. Diagnostics
While the app is running, it may keep a short, bounded in-memory list of error-category codes with UTC timestamps. The list is not persisted, uploaded, or connected to an analytics service. It is designed to exclude document names, file paths, document contents, exception messages, advertising identifiers, and unique device identifiers.
There is no automatic diagnostic transfer. Sending an email to the support address does not cause LayerPocket to attach or upload app data.
6. Support communications
If you email support, I receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and optional attachments. I use it only to respond, investigate app issues, prevent abuse, maintain necessary support records, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Do not send confidential documents or personal information unrelated to your request. Your email provider and mine may process messages under their respective privacy terms.
7. Website hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. The LayerPocket page code does not add analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels, contact forms, cookies, or remote fonts. GitHub states that it logs and stores a Pages visitor’s IP address for security, whether or not the visitor is signed in. GitHub may also process website usage data and use required cookies or similar technologies under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. See GitHub’s Pages data-collection notice.
9. Retention, choices, and rights
Deleting LayerPocket removes drafts, imported fonts, preferences, and other data in the app container. The Boolean Pro hint stored in Keychain may remain on the same device after uninstall because iOS controls Keychain lifecycle; it does not contain identity, transaction, or payment details and is cleared by LayerPocket when StoreKit reports that Pro access is no longer valid. Support communications are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain essential support records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
You may ask me to provide, correct, or delete personal information associated with your support email. Depending on where you live, local law may provide additional rights or the right to complain to a data-protection authority. I may need to verify your request and may retain information when law or security requires it.
10. Children’s privacy
LayerPocket is not directed specifically to children. I do not actively collect children’s personal information through an account or analytics system. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support request, you may contact me using the email address on this page.
11. Service providers and locations
Apple, GitHub, and email providers may process information in countries or regions where they operate. Their processing, security measures, and international-transfer safeguards are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when LayerPocket’s features, data handling, or service providers change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
